Brazlian-born founder Simone Kaplan discovered the world of fabrics and needles through her mother and grandmother, both seamstresses and business owners. Upon moving to the U.S., she worked as an assistant costume designer for the theater and opera in San Francisco where she developed a passion for Victorian and vintage costume restoration. While starting a family in Brooklyn, NY she found inspiration in the drawings and imagination of her two young sons.
